Paul Glenn York, Jr.

Paul Glenn York, Jr., age 90, of Broadway, NC passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lee County, NC on June 24, 1931 to the late Paul Glenn York, Sr. and Mildred Jarrell York.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Appen and the love of his life, his wife of 72 years, Evelyn McKinney York.

Glenn was owner/operator of Avent & Thomas, Inc. for over 35 years.  He was a faithful, life-long member of Jonesboro Presbyterian Church.  Glenn was one of those rare people who did a little good wherever he went.  He had no need to preach or teach, the law of love was written on his heart.

He is survived by his children Gail French (Greg), Glenda Cameron (Pat), Gaye York (Hymie) and Chris York.  Grandchildren are Emily Miller (Charles), Erin French, Jessica Ray (Christian), Daniel Cameron (Kelsey), Lyla York and Clara Evelyn York; great-grandchildren are Wilder Ray, McKenzie Miller and Josie Ray.  He also has an adopted grandson in the Dominican Republic, Jeberys Montero Quezada and a dear sister Mary Edna Lawrence.

The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of Jonesboro Presbyterian Church on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Cemetery.
