Patricia Ann (Morgan) Johnson

With profound sadness and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia Ann Johnson, who peacefully entered the presence of her Lord on July 2, 2026, surrounded by the enduring love of her family.

Patricia’s life was a beautiful example of unconditional love, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to her family.  If you asked anyone to describe Patricia, the word you would hear time and time again was selfless.  She spent her life putting others before herself, always offering a listening ear, a warm hug, a comforting meal, or a helping hand.  Her greatest joy was caring for the people she loved, and she did so with a servant’s heart that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, JP Morgan and Alberta Morgan and brother Jack Morgan (Dot).

One of the greatest blessings of Patricia’s life was the love she shared with her husband, Gary Michael Johnson.  Their story began when they were just fourteen years old.  They grew up together, built a beautiful life together and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.  Their enduring love was an inspiration to everyone who knew them and a beautiful reminder that true love can last a lifetime.

Patricia was a devoted mother to Natalie Mansfield and her husband, Scott, Sandie Thomas and her husband, Mike and Morgan Miller and her husband, Kevin.

She was the proud and loving grandmother of Kayla Bree-Anne McIver (Jamauri), Meredith Mansfield, Bailey Howard (Lexi), Collin Howard (Morgan), Nick Mansfield (Skyler), and Peyton Hamilton.  She was also a treasured great-grandmother to Aidyn Williams, Ellie Anne Mansfield, Jamauri McIver, Storm McIver and two more great-grandchildren on the way. She also survived by her loving sister, Bettie Cheek.

Being “Grandma” was one of Patricia’s greatest honors.  She lovingly cared for and babysat each of her grandchildren, creating countless memories filled with laughter, bedtime stories, hugs, home-cooked meals, and unconditional love.  Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome, safe, and deeply loved.  She found joy in the simple things, especially caring for her home and yard.  She could often be found outside picking up pine cones, determined to keep everything just right.  It became a family memory and a loving little joke-because Patricia would work until she was completely worn out before she would ever think of stopping.  But that was just who she was:  dedicated, proud, and full of love in everything she did. 

Patricia leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by accomplishments but by the lives she touched.  Her quiet strength, gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast faith will continue to live on through her family.  She taught those around her what it meant to love without conditions, to serve without expecting anything in return, and to find joy in caring for others.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing Patricia is no longer suffering and is resting in the arms of her Savior.  Her love will continue to guide us, and her memory will forever be woven into the hearts of those who were blessed to call her Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, family and friend.  Her family was her greatest joy, and loving them was the work of her lifetime.  Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Thearon Willis officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
