Patricia Gattis Obituary

Patricia Ann Kindel Gattis, age 72, of Sanford, NC, died, unexpectedly at her home on Monday, June 21, 2021.

She was born in Norfolk County, VA on April 3, 1949 to the late Alfred Peter Kindel and Phyllis Joan Fetters Kindel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Robert Gattis and numerous siblings. Patricia was from a large family of 12 children and was a wonderful military wife to her husband. She was a talented seamstress and loved to crossstitch. Patricia also enjoyed working in her gardens and doing yard work.

She is survived by children Buddy Hinch and wife Jenny of Staunton, VA, Christine Fleming and husband Doug of Travelers Rest, SC, Charles “Bobby” Gattis and wife Rebecca of Sanford, Melinda Kirk and Bill Marcum of Sanford; numerous siblings; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Patricia is also survived by her pride and joy – her furbaby Hooch.

Per Patricia’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Visitors are welcome at the home, 5611 Broadway Road, Sanford, NC 27332.
