Olga Lidia (Giron) Chavez

Olga Lidia Giron Chavez, age 56, of Sanford, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her home.

She was born and raised in Chinameca, El Salvador to Maria Eva Giron and the late Mauricio Lopez.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Luz Giron.  She was raised with a big family, with a total of two brothers and four sisters.  A college athlete, known for being one of the best soft ball players, she attended Escuela Ingeniero Julian Aparicio in El Salvador, majoring in nursing.  In the early 80’s she married her high school sweetheart and later gave birth to her first son and then a daughter.  She was always known to have a heart of gold and to help anyone in need.

Olga was an amazing mother and wife, always attentive of her family and loved them very much.  They meant everything to her.  She would go above and beyond for them.  She always spoke her mind and was very strong willed, honest, and determined.  She loved her granddaughter Isabella and her furbaby Daisy.

Mrs. Chavez is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Nelson De Jesus Chavez; mother, Maria Eva Giron of El Salvador; son, Jesus Eduardo Chavez and wife, Mayra Rubio of Sanford; daughter, Nancy Chavez of Sanford; brothers, Rolando Giron and Velmore Giron both of El Salvador; sisters Albertina Giron Chinameca, Delmy Giron Chinameca and Brenda Luz Giron Chinameca all of El Salvador and Norma Giron of Sanford and granddaughter, Isabella Jaimes of Sanford.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church with Father Baiju Augustine officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
