Norma held many wonderful jobs including teaching for 10 years, Head of Housekeeping for the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst, Curator for the Golf Hall of Fame, Receptionist for Groce Companies and Librarian at Central Carolina Community College. Her last occupation was as the Superintendent of Volunteers for Habitat for Humanity in Wake County. Norma was an avid reader and a collector of horse figurines. She made lifelong friends in every occupation and will be missed by everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her daughter Allison Spry (David) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren Olivia Katherine Spry and Jacob David Spry and her long-time friend and companion of 35 years Patricia Pemberton of Sanford.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in The Wesley Center of Jonesboro United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary with former Pastors Bob and Becky Allbritton presiding. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
A suggestion for a way to honor Norma is to buy a book for a child.
