Nick Alan Burris

Nick Alan Burris, age 60, of Cameron, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Albemarle, North Carolina on June 22, 1960 to James Jacob Burris and Laura Harvel Burris.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Terry and Roger Burris.  He was a self-employed mechanic who took great pride in his work. He also served on the North Carolina Highway Patrol and Harnett County Sheriff’s Department vehicle towing rotation list.  Nick was a wonderful husband, father and papa. 

Nick is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sue Burris; son, Nicholas Burris and wife, Jackie of Cameron; daughter, Robin Burris and husband, Erick Valdivia of Cameron; brother Walter Burris and wife, Sue of Lugoff, South Carolina; sisters, Opal Cooper and husband, Bill of Lugoff, South Carolina and Margaret Garner of Fairfield, South Carolina; grandchildren, Evalynn, Jesiah, Levin, Dominic and Eren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends – who he would do anything for.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at 898 Brooks Mangum Road.  The funeral service will be Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Johnsonville Church of God with Rev. Derek Howard, Rev. Dennis Pitts and Brother Ray Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
