Neil Arthur McKoy, Sr.

Neil Arthur McKoy, Sr. age 84, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lee County on September 17, 1936 to the late Artee McKoy and Flora Cameron McKoy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eliza C. McKoy; son Dennis McKoy; daughter Anita McDowell; sisters Birdie Lee Matthews and Flora McNeil and a brother Artee McKoy, Jr.  Mr. McKoy proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was a retired welder. 

Neil is survived by his daughter Lavinia McKoy of Sanford; son Neil A. McKoy, Jr and wife Latonia of Garner; Special Grandson Shawn Manley; sister Maria Thompson of New Jersey and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Bishop Emmanuel Coleman and Chaplain Winters officiating.  Friends may visit Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 4:45 pm to sign the register and view the body. Due to COVID and out of respect to others, masks will be mandatory to attend the service.
