Nancy Carol Rattz

Nancy Carol Rattz, born on October 11, 1943 in Lee County NC, passed away on April 14, 2026, at the age of 82. She succumbed to her injuries from an automobile accident on April 8 2026.

Nancy spent her life looking after her children and grandchildren.

Her passion was her music. Nancy played with her daddy and brother for many years and she played with a couple local bands. Then meeting up with Johnny Dollar and the Dollar Bills. She toured with them for a while, and played on the Grand Ole Opry. She then came back home where she and her children and grandchildren played music on her front porch on every occasion as they could. She was even singing in the hospital before she passed. 

In her younger years she loved traveling with her family and teaching them the history of many areas.

She is preceded in death by her father Grady Max Rattz and mother Lillie Bell Bobbitt Rattz. 2 brothers, Woody Rattz and Earl Rattz and sister JoAnn Rattz Riddle. As well as her grandson Christopher David Wilson.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Dede Mosser of Louisburg, Darby Eddington of Sanford, Jennifer Michelle (Greg) of Asheboro and Jesse Edington (Traci) of Sanford. Grandchildren: Jaimie McPhaul (Anthony), Jason Yow (Lindsey), Joshua Yow (Janelly), Alexis Michelle of Winston Salem and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Her children will hold a private service at a later date to honor her life and memory. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
