Myrtie Garner Obituary

Myrtie C. Garner, age 78, of Sanford, NC, died Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Lee County, NC on December 7, 1940 to the late Hubert Roscoe Coe and Maggie Holder Coe.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings; Garnet Coe, Eva Jourdan, Neffie Kiser and Wesley Lee Coe.  Myrtie ran the office for Garner Roofing, her family business, and was an active member of New Covenant Community Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir.  She loved gardening, sewing and cooking for her family.

She is survived by her husband Edmond Lee Garner; sons Douglas Edmond Garner and wife Caroline, Danny Lee Garner Sr. and wife Laura; siblings James Coe, Laura Hall and Nancy Uthof all of Sanford; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 13, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the family home.  The funeral service will be Saturday, September 14th at 11:00 AM at New Covenant Community Church in Cameron with son and Pastor Douglas Edmond Garner officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
