Melissa Ann Hawkins age 47 of Cameron, NC passed away on Sunday, October 31st at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
She was born in Lee County, NC, August 16, 1974 to Wayne Maddox of Myrtle Beach, SC and Emma Taylor of Sanford, NC. Melissa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Lyston Taylor and Mary Taylor Baker, paternal grandparents James David Maddox and Pearl Britt Maddow Thomas and Jake Thomas and her infant son, Brandon Barlup.
Melissa was employed at Farmers Furniture in Aberdeen, NC. She loved her job and her work family. Melissa was a loving mother and grandmother. She never missed a moment to capture photos of the life she shared with her family, always with a huge beautiful smile upon her face and a tremendous love in her heart. She was always her children's biggest fan on the side lines of all their sporting events. She was extremely proud of all of them. She enjoyed spending time with her family riding bikes and taking in God's beautiful landscape.
She is survived by her loving husband Tim Hawkins, her children, Heather Barlup of PA, Emily Conely (Michael) of Cameron, Joseph (Bobo) Matthews (Brianna) of Sanford NC, and of the home Sadeya, Akira, Preston and Craig. Her stepchildren Brittany Franco (Sergio), Brooke Stewart (Jordan), Brandon and Gordon, Jr. Her grandchildren, Peyton, Damian, Carson, Ellianna, Arcadia, Asher, Jace, Jaxxson, Tyler, Nash and Kaleb.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 4th, 2021 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, 600 W. Main Street, Sanford, NC. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 246 Flynn McPherson, Rd., Cameron, NC 28326 on Friday, November 5th, 2021 at 3:00pm with Rev. Allen Smith and Rev. George Brice officiating.
