Obituary
Melissa Dawn Edwards, age 47, of Raleigh, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh surrounded by her family.
She was born in Wake County on May 31, 1975, to the late Harold Thomas Edwards and Sylvia Maxine Green Edwards. Melissa was a beautiful person who had joy in her heart. She taught us many things - how to be happy and find joy in the simple things. How to be strong and how to overcome our day-to-day challenges. She fought so hard for her entire life, but especially the last five years and now is free. She has been healed.
Melissa is survived by her brother, Reverend Michael Edwards of Sanford and nieces and nephews, Sydney McCreary and husband, Noah, Benjamin, Elijah, and Emily Edwards.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Collins Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Douglas Currin officiating.
Melissa will lie-in-state for friends to come pay their respects, at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 4:45 PM.
