Mary Bess (Plyler) Mann

Mary Bess Plyler Mann, age 91, of Sanford, N.C., passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Parkview Retirement Center.

She was born in Lincolnton, N.C. on April 19, 1929, to the late William Plyler and Hattie Gantt Plyler.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Mann, Sr. and brother, Bill Plyler.  Mrs. Mann retired after a long career teaching school.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Lee Mann, Jr. “Chuck” and wife, Peggy of Sanford and William G. Mann and wife, Judy of Clayton; seven grandchildren, Ashley Matsik, Laurel Billings, Clarke Mann, Mackenzie Mann, Will Mann, Patrick Mann and Kyle Mann; five great-grandchildren, Malli Matsik, Graham Matsik, Camden Billings, Finley Billings and Adalyn Billings.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Jonesboro Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Yarboro officiating.
