Mary (Brafford) Parrish

Mary Brafford Parrish, age 78, of Sanford, NC passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on May 24, 1944, in Sanford, NC to the late Annie Bell and Grady Brafford. She graduated from Benhaven High School and worked for many years at Magneti Marelli. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and ‘Meme’ to her family.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Preston ‘Pap’ Parrish, and siblings Aaron Brafford and Hazel Clarke. She is survived by her children, Wendy McLeod and husband Patrick of Broadway; James Parrish of Sanford; and Chad Parrish and wife Shannon of Sanford; her grandchildren Parrish McLeod and wife Caroline, Emily Parrish and Miles Parrish; brothers Jimmy Brafford, George Brafford and David Brafford; and sisters Marjarie Holleman, Ann Price and Alma Dickerson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 30 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with the memorial service following at 2:00 PM with Pastor Greg Davenport and Parrish McLeod officiating.
