Mary Eliza (Hall) Cummings

Mary Eliza Hall Cummings, age 92, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at her home, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lee County, NC  on November 9, 1930 to the late Sandy Weldon Hall and Mary Margaret Cameron Hall.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Okey Lee Cummings; son Donnie Lee Cummings; sisters Ruby Hall, Martha May Hall Godwin, Betty Hall McGehee; brothers Weldon Hall, Alton Hall, John Franklin Hall and Albert Lewis Hall.

Mary worked many years in assembly line work for Cornell Dublier and Texfi.  She enjoyed working in her flower garden and yard. She loved her family more than anything and will be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her children Rebecca “Becky” Blackman of Sanford, Jimmy Cummings (Cindy) of Lexington; grandchildren Rhonda Blackman Miller (David), Carrie Blackman Womack (Ricky); great-grandchildren Alston & Harrison Miller and Leah & Jadyn Womack.  She is also survived by siblings Lester Hall (Margaret), Edna Cummings; sisters-in-law Brenda Hall and Deborah Hall.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the home of Carrie and Ricky Womack.
