Mary Eunice (Upchurch) Chandler

Mary Eunice Upchurch Chandler, age 85, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born in Harnett County on August 24, 1935 to the late Frank Upchurch and Alberta Collins Upchurch.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Waylon Royce Chandler; daughter, Kay Chandler Parker; son, Waylon Royce Chandler, Jr.; siblings, Edward Upchurch, Bryant Upchurch, Harold Upchurch, Cecil Upchurch, Franklin Upchurch, Ada Harrington, Jeanette Patterson and Joann Roberts.  Mrs. Chandler worked many years at Blue Bell.

Mary is survived by her son, Waylon Royce Chandler, III and wife, Jennifer of Sanford; daughter, Susan Bryant and husband, Billy of Sanford; brothers, Durward Upchurch and wife, Faye of Mamers, Bennie Upchurch and wife, Kaye of Broadway, Ray Upchurch and Charles Upchurch and wife, Maxine of Broadway; grandchildren, Elizabeth Wicker, Jason Thomas and wife, Brandee, Joshua Thomas and wife, Angie and Shannon Patterson and husband, J.P.; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Wicker, Abigail Wicker, J.T. Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Kaylee Thomas, Jasten Thomas, Landon Thomas, Michaela Godfrey and husband, Nate, Chandler Patterson, Greyson Patterson and Mckinlee Patterson and one great-great-grandchild, Weston Godfrey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Holly Springs Baptist Church from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Scott Yow officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral service in Lee Memory Gardens.
