Mary Elizabeth Hart Bogan, age 84, of Cameron, NC, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Moore County.
She was born in Moore County on April 28, 1940 to the late Neal William Hart and Effie Mae Simpson Hutchins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Gilbert Bogan; son Christopher Prevatte; sisters Louise Shore Jones, Norman Lee Spivey, Lilly Mae Olive, Hattie Lamb and half-siblings Sam Hart, Pete Hart and Virginia Griffin.
Mary owned and operated Wee-Care-Daycare on Frazier Drive for many years, helping families care for their little children. She also worked 22 years at Floyd L. Knight School. She loved flowers, looking at birds and her family. She and Gilbert visited 48 of our 50 States while traveling around.
She is survived by her children Michael Prevatte (Johnna), Jennifer Butler (Randall), Grace Furr (Derek); daughter-in-law Vicki Prevatte; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Mr. Larry Furr presiding. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Broadway Town Cemetery.
Following the burial, friends and family are welcome at the home of Vicki Prevatte, 306 First Street, Broadway, NC 27505.
