Marshall Holmes

Marshall Holmes, age 58, of Sanford, NC, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lee County, NC on November 25, 1963 to Bobby Gray Holmes and Carolyn Hall Holmes.  He was preceded in death by his father and grandson David Owen Buckner.  Marshall worked many years for Hancock Sand Company prior to its closing.  He then worked almost 17 years for Weeks Sand and Concrete Company as their sand pit superintendent.  He attended New Life Bible Church and he enjoyed working in his garden.  Marshall also enjoyed working on tractors, hunting but mostly teaching his grandchildren to fish.  He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Marshall is survived by his mother, Carolyn Hall Holmes; wife Janice Hall Holmes; daughters Jennifer Holmes Buckner and husband David, Katie Holmes Langston and husband Ronnie; brother Mike Holmes and wife Angela all of Sanford and grandchildren Kaiden, Caroline, Olivia, Everezt, Izaiah and Azaria.  He is also survived by two special nephews Scott and Daniel Holmes and his dog Nery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the family home.  The funeral service will follow in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Britton Altman officiating.  Burial will follow at Lemon Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
