Marian Gail (Mashburn) Johnson

Marian Gail Mashburn Johnson, age 75, of Sanford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2022, at SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice House in Pittsboro.

She was born in Carbonton, NC, on June 20, 1946, to the late Archie Mashburn and Rena Mae Purvis Mashburn.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Mashburn.  Gail retired from Pfizer after 20 years of service.   She was an avid gardener and beekeeper, enjoyed puzzles, loved days spent at the beach, and taking care of her animals.  She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Gail is survived by her husband, Roger; son, Devin McCann and wife, Meghan of Chapel Hill; daughter, Lisa McCann Diekhoff of Sanford; step-sons, Randy Johnson of Sanford and Jeff Johnson and wife, Melynda of Sanford; step-daughter Rhonda Johnson of Sanford; brothers, Roger Mashburn and wife, Linda of Bear Creek and Wayne Mashburn and wife, Patricia of Carthage; sister, Thelma Thomas of Olivia; grandchildren, Liam McCann and Declan McCann of Chapel Hill, Alexander Lacy Diekhoff and wife, Rebecca of Sanford and Braxton Lawrence Diekhoff and wife, Natalie of Siler City and step-grandchildren , Grant Johnson and Hayle Johnson, both of Sanford.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 11:00 am at Buffalo Cemetery with Pastor Phillip Nelson officiating.
