Loretta Moore (Thomas) Thomas

Loretta Moore Thomas Thomas “Yoyo”, age 54 of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Lee County on December 14, 1966 to Richard Moore Thomas “Buddy” and Mary Magdalene Hall Thomas.  Loretta was currently employed by Sampson Bladen Oil Company (Handy Hugo) and previously was a longtime employee of The Pantry offices. She was a loving and kind person who would light up a room.  Loretta adored her grandchildren who were her life.  She was the life of the party and loved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed.

Loretta is survived by her father Buddy Thomas of Sanford and mother Magdalene Thomas of Sanford; husband David Scott Thomas of Sanford; son Aaron Shafer of Michigan; daughter Jennifer Blodgett and husband Tim of Sanford; sister Annette Murchison and husband Eddie “Big Ed” of Sanford; grandchildren Lillian Shafer, Abigail Shafer, Talin Blodgett and Ryker Blodgett; special nieces Amber Nelson and husband Josh of Siler City and Brittany and John Dwyer of Sanford and great nieces and nephews J.J., Mackenzie, Loralii, Merrett, Caleb, and Fischer.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Life Springs Church (3215 Keller Andrews Road, Sanford, NC) with Pastor Shane Wilson and Rev. Curtis  Norris officiating.  Per the family’s request, please wear bright colors to celebrate the memory of Loretta.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to a college fund for the grandchildren which will be set up by the family.
