Loretta Jane (Gaster) Douglas

Loretta Gaster Douglas, age 59, of Sanford, NC, passed away Monday September 29, 2025 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Lee County, NC on August 15, 1966 to Margaret Allean Couturier and the late Roy Waylon Gaster.  Her father and step-father (Dennis Couturier) preceded her in death along with siblings Robert Waylon Gaster, Tammy Lynne Gaster and Lisa Dawn Norstrom.

Loretta earned her Associate’s Degree from Sandhills Community College in Computer Technology Drafting & Engineering. She was a devoted wife and mother and put her family’s needs above her own.  Her favorite past times were fishing and visiting the beach.  She also enjoyed arts and crafts.

In addition to her mother, Loretta is survived by her husband, Joseph Floyd “Joey” Douglas, Jr.; daughters Rebecca Douglas, Heather Douglas and grandchildren Sammuel Ishmael, Jr., Ryker Rochelle and nieces Alisha Nordstrom and Allison Silva.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 3, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM with Rev. Scott Yow officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
