Lola (O'Quinn) Walker

Mrs. Lola O’Quinn Walker, age 81, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at WakeMed Cary Hospital.

She was born in Lee County, NC on September 25, 1938 to the late David William O’Quinn and Betty Esther Maddox O’Quinn.  Lola graduated from Broadway High School and worked for Cornell Dubilier, Carolina Wholesale Florist, Gunter Brother Furniture and Dale’s Greenhouse.  Lola’s vibrant personality made everyone feel special and loved.

She is survived by her husband, of 57 years, William “Billy” Merritt Walker; sisters Frances O’Quinn Thomas and the late Leonard Cameron Thomas of Sanford, Betty Jean O’Quinn Phillips and husband Travis of Broadway, Linda Ann O’Quinn Brown and husband Cecil of Broadway; and 5 nieces and nephews Charlie Thomas, Michael Thomas, Travis Phillips, Jr., Christopher Phillips and Michelle Cameron.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Zion Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Matt Austin and Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.  There will be no formal visitation but you can certainly greet the family following the graveside service.
