Lois Marie (Carter) Wilson

Lois Marie Carter Wilson, age 84, of Sanford, NC, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Liberty Commons of Lee County.

She was born in Lee County, NC on March 6, 1938 to the late Frank Carter and Mary Eades Carter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Halford Wilson; son Michael Anthony Wilson;  numerous brothers and sisters; grandchildren Eddie Lynn Ryals, Melissa Ann Holland and great-grandchild Eddie James Ryals.  Mrs. Wilson was a loving homemaker and enjoyed her garden, canning and cooking for her family.  She received the greatest joy keeping her grandchildren through the years.

She is survived by her children Shelia Wilson Holder of Sanford, Kay Wilson Looper and husband Dan of Sanford, Connie Wilson Holland of Cameron and James Halford “Hal” Wilson, Jr. and wife Glenda of Cameron; sister Ruth Carter of Sanford; 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Parson and Rev. Scott Yow officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  There will be no formal visitation.
