Linda Joyce (Ball) Wicker

Linda Ball Wicker, age 79, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC.

She was born in Wake County on August 15, 1942 to the late Percy Willard Ball and Susanne Lee Ball.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Wesley Wicker, five brothers, and two sisters. 

Linda was a member of Zion Christian Church for 57 years, following her marriage to Hubert in 1964, and she was devoted to her faith. She worked many years for Staton Law Office and Toddy Johnson Insurance in Sanford, NC. She was in a bowling league for a number of years and she loved to play card games. Linda loved to travel, enjoyed shopping, and loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She was loved deeply by her family and her community.

She is survived by her loving children Jeffrey Lynn Wicker and wife Jody of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Tonya Wicker Hunt of Raleigh, NC, and Jennifer Wicker Floyd of Pinehurst, NC; her brother Percy Len Ball, Sr. and wife Judy of Raleigh, NC; her seven grandchildren, Kristian Forslund Whitener, Jordan Wesley Wicker, Scarlett Elizabeth Hunt, Savannah Braxton Hunt, Gordon (Sonny) James Hunt III, Alexis Colby Floyd, and Sydney Braelyn Wicker; and her great-grandson Jackson Brown.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 at 2:00 PM  at Zion Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev.  Matt Austin officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Linda will be at the funeral home Tuesday, Sept. 7th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for friends and extended family to come by and pay their respects. There is not a formal visitation.
