Linda (Springs) Stone

Linda Springs Stone, age 81, of Sanford died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at Westfield Nursing Home.

Mrs. Stone was born in Guilford County on Jan. 29, 1943, to the late Oliver C. and Margie L. Springs. She was married to the late Malcolm L. Stone of Sanford. She found great fulfillment in her childcare career, first at her home and later at Grace Christian Child Development Center in Sanford. Without a doubt, Mrs. Stone profoundly impacted the lives of many people, both young and old, throughout her long and meaningful career. She deeply loved the Lord, her husband, and her family. She was an avid reader, prayer warrior, and was a member of Grace Chapel Church.

Surviving relatives include a son, Michael Stone and wife Patricia of Sanford; two daughters, DeAnna Wahlers and husband Rick of Bolivia NC, and Kim Moes and husband David of Calabash NC; a sister Joyce Griffin of Sanford; four grandchildren, Lauren Moes, Hailey Moes, Justin Wahlers and wife Danielle, and Ryan Wahlers; and three great grandchildren, Zoey, Kyleigh, and Molly.

Mrs. Stone will lie in state on Thursday, January 23, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by her son-in-law, Rick Wahlers. A graveside service and burial will follow at approximately 4 PM at the Grace Chapel Church cemetery, with Pastors Sam Garris and Mike Tannenbaum presiding.
