Linda (Cummings) Covington

Linda Cummings Covington, age 78, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at FirstHealth Hospice House.

She was a loving mom, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, cousin and memaw. She was so kind & the sweetest person you would ever meet. She would even give you the shirt off her back. She would always make you feel so welcomed and loved on any occasion. However, be prepared if you ever bumped into her somewhere or called her because she loved to talk…. for hours!

She loved all animals, but mostly cats. My sister and I grew up having horses, dogs, cats and hamsters. My mom & I became very close after the passing of my sister. I took care of her and made sure that she had what she needed and wanted while living at home alone. She seemed to always want a Big Mac and a cappuccino!

She loved her 4 grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Daniel and Bradley and was a caregiver to most of them while my sister and I worked. Anytime she saw them, she lit up like a Christmas tree! She even has a great-grandson now, Arthur and just met him before she passed away. He is 7 years old and she loved him dearly.

She loved to be outside and especially in the yard planting flowers. She loved roses, lilies, pansies, hydrangeas, tulips and hosta plants. Her favorite color was blue.  Mom really loved jigsaw puzzles, playing games on her laptop, watching tv soap operas, listening to Elvis songs and even learned to send texts on her flip phone!

Please share your stories or memories about my mom with our family today. It saddens my heart that she is no longer with us and I am already lost without her in my life! Together, we can keep her memories alive and honor her life with stories, laughter and fond remembrances.

Please join us at Bridges & Cameron Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM for visitation and to help us honor the life of Linda Cummings Covington.  There will be no other memorial service or graveside burial service due to the holiday.
