Lela (Godwin) Harrington

Lela Harrington, age 95, of Broadway, NC, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at FirstHealth Hospice House.

She was born in Lee County on May 10, 1925 to the late Shelly V. Godwin and Fannie Cameron Godwin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Harrington; siblings, Magdalene Godwin, Jean Godwin, Mae Proctor, Paul Godwin, Melvin and H.D. Godwin.  Mrs. Harrington was retired from W. Koury Company. 

Mrs. Harrington is survived by daughter, Sylvia Smith of Broadway; sister, Catherine Coley and husband, Glenn of Sanford; granddaughter, Chana English and husband, Wayne of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Novalee English, Amariah English, Hadassah English, Jeremiah “Eli” English and Orelia English all of Fayetteville and ten nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Houston officiating.

Due to current health concerns, the family requests no visitation at their home.
