Larry Dale Foster

Larry Dale Foster, age 67, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Moore County on December 18, 1953 to the late Lawrence Eugene Foster, Sr. and Mabel Moore Foster.  Larry proudly served his Country in the US Navy and then went on to work at the Sanford Police Department for 25+years retiring as a Captain.  In his retirement he dedicated his time to teaching and mentoring students in the BLET Program to become certified law enforcement officers, as the Law Enforcement Coordinator for Central Carolina Community College. Larry was a Free Mason at Post Master Lodge #151.  He loved the game of golf and enjoyed weekly matches with his buddies.  Larry also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Alabama football and adored his beloved dog, Maxine.

Larry is survived by his wife, Jessica Furbish Anderson; his mother, Mabel Foster of West End; son, Jonathan T. Foster and fiancé, Chloe Came and her son, Jameson of Broadway; daughter, Jordanna Dale Foster of Sanford; step-sons, Bubba C. Anderson of Sanford and Joshua A. Anderson of Clearwater, Florida; brothers, L.E. Foster, Jr. and wife, Danette of Broadway and Bryan Foster and wife, Lori of West End; nephew, Garrett Foster; niece, Shannon Foster and great-nephew, Liam Foster.

There will be NO visitation at the funeral home or the family home due to COVID.  In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a scholarship fund for future law enforcement officers.  A visitation time and service will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Larry’s many friends and colleagues for their continued support shown to them during his illness.
