Kenneth Dale Atkins

Kenneth Dale Atkins, age 64, of Sanford, NC, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at UNC Hospitals with his family by his side.

He was born in Lee County, NC on August 7, 1957 to the late Homer Warren Atkins and Mildred Motsinger Atkins.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Judy Atkins.  Dale was a graduate of Deep River High School Class of 1975 and worked for Caterpillar.  Most important to Dale was his faith and his family.  He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Annette Moriarty Atkins; children Samantha Atkins Williams and husband Mike of Currie, NC, Josh Atkins and wife Nash of Tramway; brother Jerry Atkins and wife Linda; Kathy Atkins Tessman and husband Todd all of Deep River and grandchildren Beau, Rhett and Georgia.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Dale and Annette, 5603 Deep River Road and following the graveside service.  A graveside service will be held at Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Darin Vogt officiating.
