June (Roberts) Kelly

June Roberts Kelly, age 90, of Sanford, NC, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Rockingham County, NC on August 25, 1932 to the late Henry Roberts and Lessie Gunn Roberts.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hoyle “Buck” “Da” Kelly, Jr.; brother Clay Roberts and three sisters Corean, Juanita and Shirley.  June worked many years for BC Moore Department Store and alongside her husband, owned and operated Kelly Oil Company.

She is survived by her son Ricky Kelly and wife Kathy of Sanford; siblings Pat Hirsch and husband Bob of Minnesota, Pete Roberts and wife Eileen of High Point, Larry Roberts and wife Wanda of Sanford; grandchildren Tammy Duty and husband Peter, Heather Magill and husband Paul and Sharon Grigsby and husband Josh and great-grandchildren Shelby and husband PJ, Kaitlyn, Zack, Dakohta, Delainey and David.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Edwards officiating.  Mrs. Kelly will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.  There is no formal visitation.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
