June Dickens Obituary

June Wilson Dickens went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2023.

She was born on June 29, 1938 to the late Robert Alexander Wilson and Mary James Wilson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vaudie A. Dickens, and later husband Ted Driggers.

June had many jobs throughout her life, most notably working as a bookkeeper for Davis Glass Company for over 30 years.  Her father instilled in her a love of music.  She was a choir and music director for many churches over the years.  She was a gifted pianist and played her beloved baby grand piano every day.  June was also a talented seamstress.  She made costumes for children at church and beautiful dresses for her granddaughter Mandy when she was little.  Later in life, she enjoyed crafting and painting with her dear friend Phyllis.  June was a devoted Christian and honored the Lord by serving her church and family and studying the Bible.  Her faith has given her family peace and hope in knowing they will be reunited with her one day.

Surviving relatives include her children, daughter Pamela D. Thomas and husband Gary; son, Andrew L. Dickens and wife Sylvia; son, Joel W. Dickens and wife Katrina; brother, Dr. Thomas A. Wilson and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Gary Thomas, Jr., Luke Thomas and wife Kelli, Mandy Lynn T.
