Judy Kaye (Palmer) Overby

Judy Kaye Palmer Overby, age 74, of Sanford, NC, went to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at her residence, with her soul-mate and caregiver of 38 years, Jeff Hansen by her side.

She was born in Lee County, NC on Sept. 25, 1945 to the late George McQueen Palmer and Hazel Cross Palmer.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Georgia McQueen Palmer.  Judy worked in real estate for many years and was a long-time member of Buckhorn United Methodist Church and was a faithful member until her health declined.   Judy was an avid photographer who people looked to for her nature pictures.  Her specialty was butterflies, flowers and especially birds.  She was a creative and healthy cook and she and Jeff enjoyed their travels to the mountains and coast.

In addition to her soulmate, Jeff  she is survived by her children Mark Russell Overby (Ellen) of Durham, Amy Overby Wilkerson (David) of Wake Forest; sister Joan Palmer Frazier (Phil) of Moncure; aunt Madge Brinson of Middleton, WI; cousins, good friends and many nieces and  nephews, that she loved like her own. 

Her family wants to thank everyone for their love, prayers, food and support.  A memorial service, to celebrate Judy’s life, will be held at a later date at Buckhorn United Methodist Church.
