Judy Gertrude (Thomas) Cameron

Judy Thomas Cameron of Sanford, NC passed in peace on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the age of 85.  In addition to her parents, Joseph and Gladys Thomas, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McBryde Cameron, her brothers Kelly, Jimmy and George Bertis as well as her sisters, Mary Rose Taylor and Ann Harrington.

Judy is survived by her children and their spouses, Kent Cameron and wife, Sharon of Durham and Robin Arnette and husband, Johnny of Carolina Beach.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, McBryde Cameron and Cameron Arnette and spouse Jaclyn, Brian Arnette and spouse, Stephanie, Jonathan Arnette and spouse, Amanda.  Judy was also the great grandmother of five grandchildren.

Judy spent many years working at Watson Specialty Company as a bookkeeper, loved working by her husband’s side at their local grocery store O’Connell’s Supermarket, as well as greeting and cheering on the competitors at Devils Ridge Motocross. 

Judy always had a large garden and was always happy to share her bountiful harvest with others.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and graciously attended and worshipped her Lord at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church. Heaven’s harvest will be multiplied thanks to its’ newest resident 

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, June 7 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Russell officiating.  The family will be receiving friends 3:00 pm to 4:00 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that you donate to a Hospice Care Center of your choosing.
