Joyce (Lee) Oldham

Joyce Lee Oldham, 82, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Pinelake Nursing Home in Carthage, NC, surrounded by her family.

Born on February 16, 1942, in Greenville, SC, Joyce was the daughter of Mae Dora Rollins Oldham and Mr. Rollins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marshall Oldham, as well as her parents and siblings, Billy Moore, Raymond Lee, and Mary Meador and her grand-son Michael Scott Abrams.

Joyce’s life was defined by her selflessness and unwavering love for her family. She dedicated herself to ensuring her loved ones had the best of everything, always putting their needs before her own. She was known for her tireless work ethic, always up and about, whether tending to her home, caring for her family, or working in the garden. She found joy in making her home a warm, welcoming place, both inside and out, and her hands were rarely still. Whether she was sewing, gardening, or fixing something around the house, Joyce took great pride in keeping everything in order and ensuring that everyone was taken care of.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Abrams (Jacqueline) of Sanford, and Steve Abrams (Lisa) of Raleigh; her brothers, Junior Lee of Greenville, SC, and Robert Moore of Greer, SC; her grandchildren, Dustin Abrams (Lisa) of Brooksville, FL, Brandon Abrams of KY, and Brandi Abrams of KY; and her great-granddaughter, Katelyn Abrams of Burlington, NC.

Joyce’s family will forever treasure the lessons she imparted—of generosity, hard work, and the importance of family. She was the heart of her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Robert Moore will say a few words Noon on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the graveside at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, where her urn will be inurned beside her late husband Marshall, 4141 South Plank Road, Sanford, NC 27330.
