Joseph "Mike" Michael Williams

Joseph Michael “Mike” Williams, age 72, of Sanford, NC, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at his friend and caregiver’s home, Wendy Moore, while under Hospice Care.

He was born in Fulton County, Georgia on September 14, 1953 to the late John D. Williams, Jr. and Juanita Mae Shepard Williams.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Steve Williams and Alan Keith Williams.

Mike served our country in the United States Navy and worked as a machinist at GKN Automative.  For many years he worked as a skilled carpenter and handyman.  He enjoyed the simple things in life, like fishing and sitting on the front porch listening to his radio.

He is survived by his son Joshua Williams of Georgia; ex-wife Barbara Williams of Fayetteville and siblings Rick Williams (Linda) and Donna Williams all of Hope Mills.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
