Joseph “Joey” Samuel Weeks, age 60, of Sanford, NC passed away June 15, 2022.
He was born in Lee County, NC on November 27, 1961 to Thomas “Tommy” Howard Weeks and Linda Faye Williams Weeks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Howard and Sally Weeks; father Tommy; son Brad Weeks, mother-in-law Maria Perilla and brother-in-law Scott Huffman. Joey owned and operated Weeks Sand & Concrete Company. He began his career working at Food Lion as a meatcutter while taking work orders for his sand company until he could work his new business full time. Joey loved his son, Brad, his baby daughter Julie Ann and his wife Angela more than anything. Activities Joey enjoyed were fishing, golfing, going to his mountain house, family get-togethers, and having one-on-one conversations with friends. He was a 1980 graduate of Lee Senior High School. Most importantly, Joey rededicated his life to the Lord and recently was baptized. Joey will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother Linda Faye Williams Weeks; wife Angela Weeks; daughter Julie Ann Weeks; step-son Julian Torres; siblings Kim Weeks Love and husband Jim, Lorrie Weeks Huffman, Beth Weeks Lees and husband Jeff, and Ryan Weeks all of Sanford.
Joey is also survived by his nieces and nephews Trey Love, Brandon Huffman, Rebecca Love Pedley and husband Jacob, Meredith Love Carter and husband William, Megan Smith Dickens and husband Luke, Taylor Huffman, Joshua Smith, Lillie Weeks, Karsten Weeks, Jerry Alan Lees and wife Makayla, Kelli Lees Coffer and husband Garland; and great-nieces and nephews River Smith, Cooper Pedley, Karleigh Lees, Declan Lees, Oakley Lees and Titus Coffer. He is also survived by his “furbaby” Winston the dog.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 20, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Crossroads Ministries and other times at the home of Ryan Weeks, 1503 Stoneridge Road, Sanford. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Shane Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Broadway Town Cemetery.
