Joseph "Joey" Floyd Douglas, Jr.

Joseph Floyd “Joey” Douglas, Jr., age 59, of Sanford, NC, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, surrounded by family.

He was born in Lee County, NC, on August 15, 1966, to the late Joseph Floyd Douglas and Frances Patterson Douglas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Jane Gaster Douglas.

Joey worked with his father’s business, Doug’s Appliance Service, before his retirement. His favorite pastimes were fishing and being outdoors. He was a devoted husband, father, and brother, always putting his family’s needs above his own.

Joey is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Douglas and Heather Douglas; sisters, Gwendolyn Douglas of Sanford, NC, and Kim D. Strickland of Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Sammuel Ishmael, Jr., and Ryker Rochelle; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
