John "Buck" Anderson Thomas

John Anderson “Buck” Thomas, age 84, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Harnett County on August 13, 1937 to the late Herman Cameron Thomas and Mary Kate Darroch Thomas.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Zula Thomas.  Buck farmed the family farm his entire life.

He is survived by sisters Cornelia Stewart of Lillington and Thelma Persing and husband Larry of Longs, South Carolina; brother Cameron Thomas II and wife Tanis of Vass; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The body will lie in state at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM.  The graveside service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Barbeque Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Dr. David Sherrod officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery.
