John Edgar Kelly, Jr.

John Edgar Kelly, Jr., age 96, of Cameron, NC, died Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Sanford Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born December 7, 1923 to the late John Edgar Kelly, Sr. and Ethel Morris Kelly.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alma Doss Kelly; grandson Mike Kelly; and siblings Lyndon Kelly, Gene Kelly and Kathleen Taylor.  Mr. Kelly served our country during WWII in the United States Navy.  He worked many years for Coty and was a member and Deacon at Cameron Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son Jerry Kelly of Sanford; daughter Teresa McLeod of Carthage; brother Billy Kelly and wife Doris of Raleigh; sister Virginia DiLullo of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Jaime McLeod, Jonathan McLeod, Gabrielle Seawell, Mark Kelly, Chris Kelly; and great-grandchildren Dakota and Chloe.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 14, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Jared McNeill and Rev. Wayne Greene officiating.  Burial will follow at Cameron Community Cemetery with military honors.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Cameron Baptist Church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
