John Warren Holder

John Warren Holder, 77, of Sanford, died Monday (3/12/18) at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst.

John was born April 5, 1940, in Harnett County, son of the late Gordon and Elsie Womble Holder.  He was a 1957 graduate of Boone Trail School and was retired from Carnes Company.  John was a member of Shallow Well Church, where he served as an usher for many years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Denning (Al), Joyce Stewart, Jean Tart (Cornelius), and Ruby Mangum (George); and brothers, George (Angie), Norman, Howard, and Delano Holder.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Crowson Holder; daughter, Jan Holder Wilson (Morris) of Mooresville; son, Stephen Holder (Jim Davis) of Johnson City, TN; sisters-in-law, Ruth Holder and Betty Holder, both of Lillington; brother-in-law, Caviness Stewart of Lillington; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm on Wednesday, March 14 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  Funeral will be held Thursday, March 15 at 2:00 pm at Shallow Well Church with Rev. Donald Thompson and Rev. Marty Johnston officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank their many friends for all the many acts of kindness, especially the prayers, during his years of declining health.
