Jessie William Godfrey, age 77, of Sanford, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025.
He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of many years Beverly Godfrey, parents, Joe and Josie Godfrey both of Sanford, NC, sister in laws Lisa Godfrey & Judy Godfrey, 3 grandchildren, Mickey Cameron, Josh Caplan and Joey Killingsworth, 1 great nephew, Jamie Andrews Godfrey, 1 great grandchild Noah Ludwig.
Jessie was a hardworking man for many years, running his own landscaping company. Jessie loved his family, friends and hunting dogs more than he loved himself. He loved to plant a garden and share his vegetables with everyone in the community.
Jessie is survived by a son, John Godfrey (Tonia), daughters, Melissa McLemore (Stephen), Lisa Nelson (Carmelina), Angela Godfrey (Robert) and Tammy Lee (Darryl), all of Sanford, NC and Ida Jean Paris (Dominique) of Lexington, NC, Wendy Perez & Randi Leslie, son-in-law, Chris Nelson, sister Shirley Holder (Wade) of Siler City, NC, brothers Leon Godfrey (Deborah) of Olivia NC, Eddie Godfrey (Jennifer), Danny Godfrey (Sylvia), Tony Godfrey, Michael Godfrey (Vickie) of Sanford NC, 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Bridges & Cameron Funeral Home. The memorial service celebrating Jessie's life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at New Life Fellowship Church, located at 4714 Olivia Rd., Sanford, NC with Dr Gail Dickens and Pastor Ralph Douglas officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of John and Tonia, ( 320 John Godfrey Rd., Sanford, North Carolina) and at the home of Melissa and Stephen ( 90 Douglas Farm Rd., Sanford, North Carolina)
