Jesse Lee Franklin Sechrist

Jesse Lee Franklin Sechrist, age 84, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Tara Plantation of Carthage.

Born in Surry County to the late Luther Amos Sechrist and Mary Fulps Sechrist, Jesse was also preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Hiatt Sechrist; sisters, Louise Easter and Mary Ruth; and brother, Frank Sechrist.

Jesse spent his career as a commercial truck driver and found great joy in life on the open road. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, especially at Jordan Lake. A fan of Bluegrass and Gospel music, Jesse found comfort and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He was a proud and devoted grandfather, whose deep love for his family and friends will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children: Amanda Sechrist, Jesse Sechrist (Margaret), Amos Sechrist, and Joyce Sechrist, all of Sanford, NC; his sister, Kat McMillan; brothers, Luther Ray Sechrist and Dennis Sechrist; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
