Jerry Eugene Allen

Jerry Eugene Allen, age 87, of Sanford, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025 at UNC Hospital.

He was born in Harnett County to the late Joe Allen and Maggie McLeod Allen.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret S. Allen; grandson Harrison G. Zellers and many brothers and sisters.  Jerry served his country in the US Army. He worked many years at Roberts Company and later worked and retired from Coty.  He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—early mornings spent fishing, dove hunting, and countless hours puttering in his shop. Handy, dependable, and always ready with a smile, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Though he is no longer with us, the memories and moments we shared with him will live on in our hearts.

Jerry is survived by daughters Jennifer George (Steve) of Raleigh, Kimberly Lunsford (Keith) and Cynthia Holt (Tim) both of Sanford; grandchildren Allen Blackwelder, Dusty Thomas, Zane Crain, Zachery Crain, and great-grandchild Chasity Graham.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow in Buffalo Cemetery at 2:30 PM with Pastor Bill Altman officiating.
