Jane (Lockamy) Stephenson

Mrs. Jane Lockamy Stephenson, age 85, of Sanford, N.C. died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born on February 16, 1933, in Harnett County, N.C. to the late Bennett Lockamy and Maggie McNeill Lockamy.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Stephenson; brothers, Ira Lockamy, Madison Lockamy, Warren Lockamy, and Odis Lockamy; and by sisters, Lillian Lockamy Bunn, Vera Lockamy Billings, and Bernice Lockamy Rosser.

Mrs. Stephenson worked at Eaton Corporation for over 20 years. She attended Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church and was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved beach vacations.

Mrs. Stephenson is survived by her daughters, Kathy Stephens Collins and husband, Les and Vicky Stephens Matthews and husband, Tommy; grandsons, Chad Collins and wife, Christy and Derrick Matthews and wife, Ashley; great granddaughters, Abby Collins, Katie Collins and Jocelyn Collins, and by great-granddogs, Marley and Zoey.

he family will receive friends Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church in McDowell Hall at 316 West Main Street, Sanford, N.C. prior to the funeral service.  The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Sayles officiating.  Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.  At all other times the family will gather at 750 Colon Road, Sanford, N.C.
