James "Pete" Alfred Lawrence

James Alfred Lawrence, age 78, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Lee County, NC on November 14, 1941 to the late Lynn McIver Lawrence and Tula Mae Hinesley Lawrence.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Peggy L. Fulton Bradshaw; brothers, Billy, Bobby and Marvin Lawrence.

James, known as “Pete” to everyone was the “Philosopher” of the family.  He always had words of wisdom to share.  He enjoyed afternoons sitting on the porch, Nascar, tinkering on things and fishing when he was able.

James had no children of his own, but he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 am at Poplar Springs Church Cemetery with Pastor Dale Sauls officiating.
