James “Jim” Daniel McNeill, Sr., age 81, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at FirstHealth Hospice House.
Jim was born in Randolph County on April 8, 1944, the son of the late Dallas Allen McNeill and Lucy Helen Ward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby McNeill, and sister, Dianne McNeill King.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Elaine McNeill; son, Danny McNeill of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Kerri Comer (Phillip) of Sanford, NC; goddaughter, Teresa White of Denver, CO; brother, Gary McNeill (Debbie) of Greensboro, NC; brother-in-law Ronnie King of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Britini Jennings (Josh), Chase McNeill (Hannah), and Skylar Comer; great-grandchild, Jayden Jennings; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was the co-owner and founder of J & E Uniforms and had been in the uniform business for over 61 years. He coached and played softball and was a proud supporter of Wake Forest University Athletics. Jim was an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church for more than 40 years. He loved his church deeply.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church, with Rev. Ed Mitchell, Mr. Travis Corley, and Rev. Charles Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A meal will follow in the church fellowship hall after the committal service — in Jim’s own words, with “Good Food.”
