James Lewis Parker, age 80, of Cameron, NC, died Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at his home.
He was born in Warren, Ohio on December 12, 1939 to the late John Wilson Parker and Edna Mae Morris Parker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marie Crocker Parker. James served our country in the United States Navy and had been a faithful member of Countryside Presbyterian Church. He served in many roles at the church over the years; Elder, Sunday School Teacher and Youth Leader. He also volunteered taking meals to the homebound. In his later years, James was a member of Calvary Missionary Methodist Church along with his late wife Marie.
He is survived by five children Theresa, Christian, Debbie, Mary Francis and Vince; brother Glenn Parker of Ohio; special friends Phyllis and Larry Haywood of Sanford and their children Maeanna and Challen Haywood.
Family will receive friends at Countryside Presbyterian in Cameron, NC on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM with a memorial service following at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dave Kinney and Rev. Curtis Norris officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
