James Edward Grimes

James Edward Grimes, age 69, of Broadway, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at his home.

He was born in Garrard County, KY on June 27, 1952, to the late William Henry Grimes and Fannie Goins Grimes.  James was a paralegal assistant retired from the US Army.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Denise Smith.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Patricia Morgan Grimes of the home; sons, James Edward Grimes, Jr. of Broadway, Charles Henry Grimes and Chelsea of Cameron, and Robert William Grimes of Broadway; a daughter, Tammy Lou Grimes of KY, and a sister, JoRita Grimes of KY; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A chapel service will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, 2PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Pastor John Baker presiding.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1PM to the funeral hour.  This service will include full Masonic honors.

A committal service will take place Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Fort Bragg at 10AM with full military rites.
