James Felton Baker, Jr.

James Felton Baker, Jr., age 82, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

He was born in Chatham County, NC on September 24, 1943 to the late James Felton Baker, Sr. and Betty Savannah Arnold Baker.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Grace Baker and brother Jerry Wayne Baker. 

James graduated from Sanford Central High School, Class of 1961 and earned his Associates Degree from Central Carolina Technical Institute (now CCCC).  He owned and operated Baker Main Street Gulf Station / BP Station and was a well know and respected business man.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

James is survived by his son James F. Baker, III; brother Bobby William Baker (Janet); sister Doris Baker Harper and granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Baker.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Lee Memory Gardens with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.  There will be no visitation or viewing.
