Jacqueline (Smith) Suggs

Jacqueline Smith Suggs, age 73, of Sanford, NC, died Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on May 22, 1946 to the late John Wheeler Smith and Clara Elizabeth Patterson Smith.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Claybon Suggs; daughter Kimberly Dawn Suggs; brother Lonnie Lee Smith; nephew John Hammonds III and niece Kelly Cox.

Jacqueline was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.  She was a loving and caring mother to her late daughter Kimberly Dawn Suggs.  Jackie was so proud of her nieces and nephews and was a “nanny” to all of them.

She is survived by her brother Dwight Smith and wife Sandra of Broadway; sisters Peggie Jones of Sneads Ferry, NC, Marie Hammonds and husband Johnny of Broadway, Grace Thomas of Broadway; and nieces and nephews Alicia Stone, Angie Bowers, Garrett Jones, Tonia Wright, Nicole Thomas, Amy McDonald and Jennifer Allen.

Funeral service will be Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the burial and at other times at the home of Dwight and Sandra Smith.
