Howard "Butch" Milton Powers, Jr.

Howard "Butch" Milton Powers, Jr., age 73, of Sanford, NC, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Lee County on February 5, 1951 to the late Howard Milton Powers, Sr. and Helen Estelle Smith Powers.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Corey Powers.  Howard served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam.  He worked as a fabricator at Allied Fibers (Honeywell) for many years. He enjoyed the beach, fishing with his buddies and the Duke Blue Devils.  More than anything he loved his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons Greg Powers (Tonya) of Dunn, Jason Powers (Robyn) of Sanford; brother Chuck Powers (Nancy) of Sanford; grandchildren Jeffery Powers, Noah Powers (Kaylee), Alyssa Powers; and great-grandchildren Isiah, Ezra, Dallas, Kingston and Aspyn.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
